Heart in Motion is the brainchild of Stephanie and Sean Dy Juanco. The siblings wanted a community group for students who are passionate about serving from their heart to volunteer together. The notion of forming a non-profit was born. They approached Community Access Plus (CAP), a non-profit organization providing Vocational Rehabilitation / Supported Employment services to developmentally challenged adults if they would help them form Heart in Motion. CAP welcomed the idea of nurturing youths to be passionate about community service as a way of life. In June 2010, CAP established the Heart in Motion Project. Since our inception, Heart in Motion has provided 40,678 hours of community service through its dedicated members.
HIM currently has over 1000 students from 31 schools on its roster. Its doors are always open to all youths. Individual students and school clubs are welcome to join in the efforts of making a difference in the community. Heart in Motion is a proud member of the San Francisco Food Bank Apple Corps Program, where they are committed to fight hunger year-round.
