Serving the Community from our Hearts

As part of Heart in Motion's mission to promote volunteerism and leadership development, we are excited to introduce our newly developed scholarship and awards program! These benefits are for dedicated volunteers and emerging leaders to support their higher education and future endeavors.

Our awards program is available to all grade levels. Individuals are selected not by application but instead chosen because of their presense in the organization. Each recipient will be evaluated by the basis of the four awards.

SFTH Scholarship

Service from the Heart

The Service from the Heart (SFTH) Scholarship is awarded to individuals who have displayed outstanding commitment and passions toward community service through their time with Heart in Motion. It is only available to graduating seniors who must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in the fall. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the following criteria:
  • Active membership status
  • Active events
  • Completion of application
  • HIM waiver on file
  • Senior grade level
  • Service years
  • Service hours (hours will be counted up to SF Marathon)
  • Submission of unofficial transcript (email pdf to scholarships@heartinmotion.org)
  • Work Performance

A pattern of not showing up, canceling at the last minute, not turning in event waivers in a timely manner, or unacceptable behavior at events will negatively impact a candidate's application.

Application Open: July 1, 2017

Application Deadline:  July 31, 2017
