Green Festival

 

SF Concourse Exhibition Center

 
There are 2 entrance to the exhibition center. Volunteers should enter at 620 7th Street.

1) Enter on 7th Street end of the building and proceed to the left and upstairs to check-in at volunteer registration before your shift. You will get your Free Event T-Shirt and start your shift.
2) Please NOTE: Early morning volunteers – you may have to enter from 8th Street, there is limited security to let you through the door in the early morning and thus, 7th Street may be locked, make sure to identify yourself as a volunteer.

 

Volunteer Benefits - Volunteers must commit to at least one 4 - 5 hour shift during the festival to receive:

All Volunteers under age 18, must have a volunteer waiver.

Available Roles

   

Coat Check
Coat Check volunteers will collect coats from attendees, give attendees a ticket for their coat, collect the correct donation amount and place the coat in the coat check.  Volunteers will also be responsible for recording all information and tracking received money on the appropriate sheet provided by Green Festival staff, and return checked items to the appropriate person.

Global Exchange Store
Volunteers will assist the store with sales, security, folding and organizing, and stocking.  Retail experience is necessary to work in the Global Exchange store, willingness to interface with customers, and organizational and layout skills are helpful.  If you’re good at folding clothes and selling merchandise-sign up for this position!  Must be outgoing.


Green Festival Store
Volunteers working in the Green Festival store will assist with selling Green Festival merchandise, such as t-shirts, bags, canteens, books, beverages, and other merchandise to attendees.  Volunteers will also provide security to the store space, including the bookstore area and cafe.  Customer service skills, retail and sales experience are a must.  Must be outgoing.

 

Green Kid's Zone
Volunteers working in the Green Kid’s Zone should enjoy working with children and helping facilitate the kid’s programming and activities as needed.  Come prepared to have fun!

Partner Lounge
Volunteers will greet partners in the lounge, keep the lounge area stocked with snack and beverages, and may assist with dropping partner materials in different areas of the event.  There may be times during your shift when it is very quiet, so please be comfortable with this and feel free to bring reading materials with you.

Volunteer Registration
Volunteers working in volunteer registration will assist with handing out volunteer t-shirts, stocking, making sure volunteers sign the volunteer waiver, and running the volunteer coat check in the volunteer lounge.   Volunteers may also run errands and escort other volunteers to their respective areas.  You may want to bring some reading material for potential down time of you’re working an afternoon or evening shift.

Box Office
Volunteers working in the Box Office will serve primarily as a greeter in the lobby of the box office or working in will call (advance tickets sales). Please be prepared to interface with customers, be on your feet greeting attendees, answering questions, and directing lines and helping manage the crowd. You will be trained for your position upon arrival. Customer service skills and flexibility are a must!
